A SYMPHONY OF SLOTHS
Slumbering Sloth. Slowly Snoring. Circulating Solar Systems. Submitting Solar Beams. Seeing through Souls. Sloth Knows.
A Symphony of Sloths is an original music production,produced, directed and composed by Marika Pratley. It premiered in the New Zealand Fringe Festival 2014 and received funding from Kakano Funding/Creative New Zealand, to a sold out season. It featured a Sloth Robot designed and built especially for the performance, as well as a homemade electronic synthesiser. The work was an amalgamation of Javanese gamelan instruments, voice, wine glasses, and sampled electronics.
